Ty Lopez is a Senior Director in FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice and is based in Washington, DC. He has more than 22 years of experience developing strategies and managing high-priority programs. Mr. Lopez is an expert in working with cross-functional teams, defining technical roadmaps, and developing solutions to address gaps, risks, and vulnerabilities.
At FTI Consulting, Mr. Lopez provides strategic counsel to clients and leads teams performing cybersecurity maturity assessments, implementing strategic roadmaps, conducting regulatory compliance assessments, and carrying out incident response and post-incident investigative activities. Mr. Lopez has been instrumental in designing over 500 enhancements and implementing continuous methodologies to proactively mature a large technology firm’s privacy program. Mr. Lopez’s leadership has delivered positive outcomes to clients in aviation, technology, healthcare, data services, financial services, and within the defense industrial base.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Lopez served as the Director of Programs & Requirements for Air Force One in the United States Air Force, responsible for acquisition, development, sustainment, and product improvement for the Air Force’s fleet of presidential support aircraft.
While serving on Air Force One, Mr. Lopez led a team of 82 personnel, responsible for managing requirements for 64 active Department of Defense (DoD) programs, valued in excess of $11B. He was Air Force One’s top program manager with over 12 years of dedicated leadership of people, processes, and technology for the Biden, Trump, and Obama Presidential administrations.
Mr. Lopez holds a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is a Certified Professional Manager and sits on the Executive Board of Directors for Joint Base Andrews Fisher House.
