
Ty Lopez is a Senior Director in FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice and is based in Washington, DC. He has more than 26 years of experience leading complex, high-impact programs across national security, aerospace, and enterprise technology environments. He is recognized for aligning business strategy with technical execution, advising senior leadership, and delivering measurable outcomes in high-stakes, mission-critical settings.
At FTI Consulting, Mr. Lopez serves as a Senior Director in the Cybersecurity and National Security practices, advising Fortune 50 clients and global organizations across the technology, financial services, healthcare, and defense sectors. He leads multidisciplinary teams in delivering cybersecurity transformation initiatives, regulatory and compliance programs, and enterprise risk strategies. His work spans proactive program design, including the development of scalable security architectures and maturity roadmaps, as well as leading incident response and complex investigations to stabilize and protect organizations following critical events. Mr. Lopez is also known for developing forward-leaning solutions that strengthen resilience, reduce risk exposure, and enable long-term operational integrity.
Mr. Lopez is a recognized expert in aerospace, defense, and aviation, bringing a unique ability to translate national security and mission assurance principles into commercial enterprise environments. He has played a key role in advancing client capabilities through tailored program development, operational enhancements, and executive-level advisory support.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Lopez served in the United States Air Force, where he held senior leadership roles supporting the Presidential Airlift mission. As Director of Programs & Requirements for the Presidential Airlift Wing, he led acquisition, sustainment, and technology integration efforts for the Air Force One presidential fleet, while also guiding requirements development for the next-generation VC-25B platform. His leadership contributed to the successful completion of critical design review milestones for the new presidential aircraft. During his tenure, Mr. Lopez led a team of 82 personnel and oversaw a portfolio of 64 active Department of Defense programs valued at more than $11 billion. He was the senior program leader responsible for aligning requirements, capabilities, and execution across multiple presidential administrations, ensuring mission readiness at the highest levels of government.
Mr. Lopez holds a bachelor’s degree in technical management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In addition to his professional work, Mr. Lopez serves as President of the Board of Directors for MilCon Careers and sits on the Executive Board of Directors for the Joint Base Andrews Fisher House, where he provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for initiatives that expand career pathways, deliver critical resources, and support the long-term success of veterans and military families across all branches of service.
