Ms. Murray helps clients in their efforts to investigate and attribute sources seeding online discord, including identifying suspected botnets and other botnet-driven online manipulation. This investigative expertise extends to deepfakes, as well as manipulated audio and video content, and forged documents. Ms. Murray is adept at combining investigative and threat intelligence capabilities to analyze and assess malicious campaigns conducted by nation-state actors and to unmask anonymous online accounts.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Murray spent nearly two decades as a journalist. As a leading correspondent at CNN, she conducted politically sensitive investigations on a bipartisan basis. Ms. Murray was also an investigator regarding misinformation and disinformation campaigns, election threats, and foreign actors working to influence U.S. political institutions. Prior to her investigative work, Ms. Murray traveled the U.S. covering President Trump’s first campaign in 2015 and later served as a White House Correspondent covering President Trump’s first year in the Oval Office.

In 2020, Ms. Murray won an Emmy and a White House Correspondents’ Association Award for her coverage of the Special Counsel’s investigation into Russian interference efforts in the 2016 presidential election.

Before her time at CNN, Ms. Murray worked at The Wall Street Journal covering politics and global economics. Her in-depth coverage of the 2008 financial crisis and subsequent economic fallout showcased her ability to analyze complex issues with clarity and insight. Ms. Murray’s experience in navigating sensitive political landscapes, cultivating trust with confidential sources, and translating complex information into compelling narratives is invaluable in understanding and addressing the evolving challenges in the national security domain.
