Philippe Baumgart is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice and is based in Paris. Mr. Baumgart is a senior cybersecurity expert with over 21 years of experience, specializing in digital forensics, incident response, threat intelligence, cyber crisis management, and offensive security.
Mr. Baumgart boasts a proven track record in developing and deploying advanced cybersecurity services, managing teams, and driving successful client engagements across various industries.
Throughout his career, Mr. Baumgart has led numerous high-profile incident response engagements, overseeing crisis coordination, EDR deployments, DFIR investigations, containment efforts, and Active Directory recovery. He has also built threat intelligence capabilities and demonstrated expertise in offensive security.
As a former partner at a Big Four organization, Mr. Baumgart served as the Head of CSIRT Crisis & Resilience, leading a team certified by ANSSI (the French Cybersecurity Agency). His expertise spans incident response, threat intelligence, and complex offensive security assessments, including SOC evaluations, threat-led penetration testing, red teaming, threat hunting, and internal and application penetration testing.
Before leading the CSIRT, Mr. Baumgart spearheaded several APT simulations and SOC assessments in the aerospace and defense sectors, as well as global security assessments for the automotive and retail industries.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Baumgart led a global offensive security program in the financial sector at another Big Four firm. He began his professional journey by integrating open-source security solutions (LDAP & PKI) for the SGDSN and French ministries.
