Melissa Parker is a Senior Director in FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice and is based in Washington, DC. She has over 15 years of experience in digital transformation, enterprise risk management, and internal audit cross-functional initiatives. As an information security and cyber risk leader, she partners with clients to integrate stakeholders and drive critical initiatives in alignment with strategic priorities and direction. Ms. Parker has broad industry experience, including aerospace and defense, information technology, energy, and logistics.

At FTI Consulting, Ms. Parker leads teams in support of cybersecurity maturity assessments, regulatory compliance assessments, internal audits, risk, and privacy programs. Her client delivery highlights include leading a privacy team supporting an external assessment for a major social media company and driving operational excellence for the account. Leveraging her experience as an information system auditor, Ms. Parker advises clients on information security-related matters including strategy, program delivery, assessments, compliance, incident response, and complex investigations. Particular areas of focus for Ms. Parker are: assisting organizations with meeting cyber and information security risk management program obligations; advising on controls testing, root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and remediation; and communicating strategically to coordinate and align cross-functional stakeholders.

Prior to FTI Consulting, she led cross-functional engagements at numerous Federal agencies as a consultant, advisor, and technical program manager. Ms. Parker focused on translating highly complex and technical information security findings to provide data-driven strategic recommendations for process changes and improvements. Her dedicated approach to collective decision-making fostered holistic approaches to risk quantification and management while enabling system consolidation, modernization, and digital transformation at the Department of Navy, Defense Logistics Agency, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. 

Through her experience as a program manager and strategic change manager driving large-scale transformation, Ms. Parker developed the necessary expertise to apply frameworks and problem-solving effectively across enterprises. By utilizing holistic approaches addressing organizations’ service providers and receivers, her efforts directly supported maturing the collective risk posture and security.

Ms. Parker holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Liberty University. She is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
