Matthew McClelland is a Senior Managing Director in the Cybersecurity practice at FTI Consulting. He brings more than two decades of experience in data and information governance, intelligent information management and analytics. Mr. McClelland has built and scaled sophisticated information and data governance programs for global organizations and managed hundreds of information management initiatives for Fortune 500 companies.
As a leader in information governance and data management, Mr. McClelland has a proven track record of delivering enterprise programs across the healthcare, insurance, telecom, manufacturing and retail sectors. He has significant expertise in defining, implementing and scaling enterprise information models, architectures and taxonomies while driving global compliance and executing large-scale data minimization and records modernization. He focuses on developing programs grounded in practical solutions that translate strong information governance into measurable business results.
Mr. McClelland frequently advises clients on operating model design, policy and retention schedule development, change management and technology enablement. Prior to his career in consulting, he served in director and management roles leading internal information and data governance programs within the insurance industry. In these roles, he was responsible for overseeing privacy compliance, records management, analytics and e-discovery while implementing comprehensive training and awareness programs to drive organizational alignment.
Mr. McClelland holds certifications from the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (“ARMA”) and the Association for Intelligent Information Management (“AIIM”). He earned a B.A. in mathematics with a minor in economics from the University of Virginia.
