Jason Hale is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice and is based in Atlanta. He is a seasoned cybersecurity expert with more than 17 years of experience in the cybersecurity field. Mr. Hale has worked on hundreds of engagements spanning incident response, civil litigation, and corporate investigations across a range of industry verticals such as healthcare, financial, energy, legal, and telecommunications.
At FTI Consulting, Mr. Hale leverages deep industry knowledge and technical experience to provide clients with guidance on a wide array of cybersecurity matters, including expert witness testimony, complex investigations, threat intelligence, class action data breach support, malware analysis, and digital forensics.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Hale led the Cyber Threat Investigations & Expert Services (CTIX) team at a major consulting firm. He also spearheaded the development of their threat intelligence repository, housing millions of unique indicators of compromise (IOCs) sourced from advanced persistent threat (APT) investigations and other high-profile incidents.
Additionally, Mr. Hale has more than a decade of experience leading and conducting cyber investigations at a boutique consulting firm, providing digital forensics, incident response, and expert witness support to law firms. There, he examined digital evidence for civil and criminal litigation matters, internal corporate investigations, and other cyber engagements providing strategic advice as well as expert witness testimony for his clients.
Mr. Hale earned a master of science in digital forensics from the University of Central Florida and numerous certifications including GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Advanced in AI Security Management (AAISM), and Certified Computer Examiner (CCE). He has also presented at numerous cybersecurity and digital forensic conferences and served as an adjunct instructor of digital forensics at the University of Louisville.
