Erik Hammerquist is a Senior Director in FTI Consulting’s Technology segment and is based in Los Angeles. In his role, he assists clients in protecting their business value, continuity and electronic information by drawing on his more than 12 years of experience in conducting computer forensic examinations, designing and implementing business network infrastructures and securing and preserving critical information.
Mr. Hammerquist regularly assists businesses in the identification of relevant information about or within their systems. He also delivers solutions to secure, preserve and forensically extract that information. Mr. Hammerquist has also participated in all facets of computer forensic examinations. He has consulted on source identification, conducted forensic preservation, and has performed forensic data and systems analysis for matters of intellectual property theft, internal investigations, contract disputes, wrongful termination, workplace harassment, and family law.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Hammerquist operated as a Senior Analyst of Network Infrastructure and Computer Forensics for INSYNC Consulting Group, Inc. As a network infrastructure analyst, Mr. Hammerquist designed, documented, implemented and secured network infrastructures for mid-market companies. His specialties included Microsoft Exchange, Citrix Metaframe and Terminal Services remote-access solutions. As a computer forensic examiner, Mr. Hammerquist regularly analyzed a wide range of computing platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Apple, and UNIX / Linux desktop and server systems. He also developed and documented examination methodologies and identified and tested new tools and software.
Mr. Hammerquist is an active participant on several internal steering committees, including Total Quality Control and Forensic Hardware Selection and Testing.
Mr. Hammerquist holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from American Intercontinental University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from California State University at Chico. He has attained the industry-recognized EnCase Certified Examiner and Citrix Certified Administrator certifications.
