Cameron Crowell is a Senior Director in FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice and is based in New York. Mr. Crowell is a career cybersecurity professional with more than a decade of experience in incident response, data privacy, crisis management, advanced threat research, building and conducting assessments, litigation support, and complex investigations. His expertise spans across multiple industries including healthcare, finance, technology, blockchain, aerospace, and defense.

At FTI Consulting, Mr. Crowell serves as the Deputy Lead for North America’s Incident Response efforts within the Cybersecurity practice. He leads expert teams in investigating and mitigating sophisticated cyber threats, including ransomware attacks, business email compromises, cyber extortion, data exfiltration, and state-sponsored cyber espionage.

Mr Crowell’s leadership extends to both proactive and reactive cybersecurity initiatives, such as breach response, virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) engagements, complex legal investigations, crisis management, cyber risk assessments for M&A transactions, and compliance evaluations. He has extensive experience with industry-standard frameworks, including CIS, NIST, and ISO, as well as regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, DFARS, and GDPR. In multiple investigations, he has prepared detailed forensic findings for law enforcement agencies.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Crowell was a vice president at Citigroup’s Cyber Security Fusion Center and a founding member of Citi’s Fraud Fusion Center. In these roles, he spearheaded the development of intelligence-driven cybersecurity and fraud detection tools, enhancing Citi’s ability to proactively identify, analyze, and respond to emerging threats. Before that, he served as a Lead Investigator for Citi Security and Investigative Services, specializing in incident response, digital forensics, malware analysis, insider threat investigations, and cybercrime cases.

Mr. Crowell holds a master’s degree in cybersecurity and a bachelor’s degree in computer and information science from Fordham University. He is a Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Certified Incident Handler (GCIH).
