Dr. Maurer-Prager is a seasoned cybersecurity advisor with extensive expertise in private equity, cybersecurity compliance, cyber risk mitigation, and strategic transformation across complex, high-stakes environments. Her work spans sectors and geographies, with a focus on strengthening cyber resilience, aligning operations with global standards such as ISO27001, and enabling organisations to proactively manage cyber, regulatory and reputational risk.
She has led cybersecurity readiness and compliance initiatives across a wide range of industries, helping organisations build maturity against industry-leading frameworks and prepare for evolving regulatory requirements. Dr. Maurer-Prager brings particular depth in designing and implementing enterprise-wide cyber assessment programmes across private equity-owned asset portfolios that identify gaps, enhance controls, and embed long-term operational resilience. Her strategic approach integrates cybersecurity into broader business goals – supporting digital transformation, regulatory alignment, and sustained growth.
In addition to her compliance and risk work, Dr. Maurer-Prager advises on complex transactions including mergers, carve-outs, and IPO readiness, where cybersecurity and operational due diligence are critical to success. She has assessed cyber posture in investment targets, guided large-scale integrations, and advised on both pre- and post-transaction risk exposure, ensuring that cybersecurity is not an afterthought but a core pillar of strategic decision-making.
Dr. Maurer-Prager has also supported clients in high-profile investigations and legal proceedings, including private arbitrations and public cases involving cyber incidents. In addition to managing complex digital forensic investigations, she has provided strategic advice on the impact of, and likely harms associated with, large-scale data breaches and advised on post-breach remediation and transformation strategies.
Beyond her consulting work, Dr. Maurer-Prager was awarded a UK Research Council grant to investigate crisis response and resilience across geopolitical and cultural contexts. Her PhD research took her across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, where she led multilingual fieldwork and contributed original insights to the understanding of resilience. She has presented at global conferences and institutions including the University of Cambridge, Durham, and St. Andrews, and her work has been published by Manchester University Press.
