Mr. Ter-Pogosyan has more than eight years of cybersecurity experience in incident response investigations, compromise discovery, threat intelligence and attack surface mapping.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ter-Pogosyan has conducted several major incident response engagements, including APT, ransomware, cyber fraud, and data breaches. He has also performed coordination, digital forensics, root cause analysis, and threat intelligence analysis.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Ter-Pogosyan was a Senior Manager on the CSIRT team at a Big Four professional services firm. In this role, he supervised and carried out threat intelligence, compromise discovery, crisis management and DFIR matters.
Specifically, Mr. Ter-Pogosyan carried out threat intelligence work in the context of Red Team engagements for EMEA-based banks, asset management, assurance and luxury industry clients. This work included scenario mapping, tailored threat assessments, detection of attack path, external reconnaissance, credential intelligence, and data leak detection. Notably, he led the TI part of the TIBER-EU engagements, drafted and reviewed the GTL and TTI reports.
Mr. Ter-Pogosyan also performed “Flash” cybersecurity assessments, such as cyber due diligence, intended to draw up the cybersecurity posture of target entities in a limited time frame. The checks included documentation review, interviews, asset surface mapping, data leak detection and internal scanning.
In the field of cybersecurity governance and crisis management, Mr. Ter-Pogosyan prepared and facilitated crisis management exercises for senior executives, CISOs and IT teams, drafted incident response plans and readiness procedures, prepared and facilitated capture-the-flag challenges, and carried out assessments of incident response policies and practices of clients based on SANS and NIST methodology.
