Amrit Singh Deo is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment and is based in Mumbai. Mr. Singh Deo has more than 20 years of experience counseling senior management teams on strategic communications issues.
Since the opening of the Mumbai office in 2012, Mr. Singh Deo has organically grown FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications business in India, creating a specialist communications advisory boutique that focuses on mitigating reputational risks and strengthening license-to-operate for global corporations operating in South Asia, through specialist communications advice, financial communications and public affairs counsel.
Mr. Singh Deo has advised global clients in financial services (Mastercard, Apax Partners, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, SGX, Blackrock, Investcorp), energy and natural resources (Exxon, Nobel Energy), the global development sector (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Walk Free Foundation, Responsible Mica Initiative), infrastructure (DP World), technology (Virgin Hyperloop One, Axiata), sovereign representation (Scottish Development International), healthcare (Johnson & Johnson), industrials (Tetrapak, Crompton Greaves), retail (Woolworths) and professional services (Allen & Overy, TrustPlutus).
Mr. Singh Deo developed the India, ASEAN and Asia Disclosure Indicies, sets of proprietary FTI Consulting public research that track voluntary disclosure practices amongst leading publicly-listed companies in Asia. He developed the research methodology and has been the author of this research property since 2015.
Before FTI Consulting, Mr. Singh Deo started the Financial Communications advisory business of a global communications firm in India advising clients in the financial services sector (TPG Capital, Kotak Bank, IL&FS Investment Managers) and in special situations such as Akzo Nobel India (investor relations counsel during shareholder proxy battle), International Paper (post-M&A integration communication) and Woolworths India (litigation communication). Prior to this, Mr. Singh Deo led the Marketing & Communications function for Ericsson in India and Sri Lanka.
