SITUATION
After experiencing a ransomware incident, and subsequently removing their Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) due to negligence, a healthcare company engaged FTI Cybersecurity to provide virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) support. In light of recent cybersecurity challenges, the client needed additional guidance and oversight, including proactively preparing for future cybersecurity incidents.
OUR ROLE
FTI Cybersecurity sent an expert to the client site to investigate the incident thoroughly, establish cybersecurity protocols, implement cybersecurity tools, and oversee the deployment of the tools. The FTI Cybersecurity expert also participated in client meetings, providing CISO-level support, and offering guidance based on industry expertise.
OUR IMPACT
FTI Cybersecurity ensured the implementation of sufficient cybersecurity tools while recovery and investigation of the incident was still ongoing. With the assistance of FTI Cybersecurity, the client established new policies, particularly regarding international travel and devices on the network, to enhance cybersecurity measures. Additionally, when the client appointed a new CISO, FTI Cybersecurity aided in the selection and transition, and remains engaged in ongoing efforts.
