SITUATION
FTI Cybersecurity was retained to provide strategic guidance to bolster a high-profile professional services firm’s comprehensive cybersecurity ecosystem following a data theft and extortion incident.
OUR ROLE
Following the client’s data breach incident, FTI Cybersecurity swiftly responded by identifying, containing, and eradicating the malicious threat actor from the organization’s systems. Our team employed our “Build Secure” approach to assess gaps which led to the cybersecurity incident, and with input from key stakeholders, implement immediate actions. Additional short and long-term recommendations were made with stakeholder buy-in to address critical areas such as identity and access management, data protection, and network monitoring and defense.
OUR IMPACT
Our team collaborated closely with the client to formulate and execute a strategic security roadmap, which emphasized defense-in-depth cybersecurity practices aimed at a well informed cybersecurity transformation. An example of the implementation focused on mitigating the risk of future security incidents and ensuring real-time alerting mechanisms would be in place to promptly respond to attacks, as well as limit the attack surface. Key stakeholder involvement was crucial for the success of the transformation.
