Patrick MacGloin is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice and is based in London. Mr. MacGloin has 20 years of international security experience.
As a former diplomat and consulting partner, Mr. MacGloin has broad technical and policy experience. Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. MacGloin was Managing Director and Head of Cybersecurity at S-RM Intelligence and Risk Consulting (part of Axa XL). There, he led incident response to large-scale international ransomware events (liabilities of greater than 15M USD), technical and security due diligence exercises for acquisitions, and litigation investigations (including expert witness). Prior to his role at S-RM, he served as a Partner at EY establishing and leading their European Cyber Center of Excellence for financial services.
As a diplomat, Mr. MacGloin served as an operational specialist for the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office around the world. He provided technical expertise and liaison in the face of high-profile cyber attacks in the Middle East, and led international joint technical development programmes. He set up and ran special projects within the UK’s National Technical Assistance Centre, which is responsible for recovering data from seized media and technical advice to government and industry on interception and data recovery.
Mr. MacGloin has supported advisory boards of various international professional bodies and conferences, including RSA Cybersecurity Conference and the Chartered Institute of Information Security. He has presented to ASEAN+3 senior officials at closed-door roundtable events alongside Interpol and Europol. He has helped design and implement national security strategies and assurance programmes. His work for a Dubai government entity received the 2016 Global Cyber Risk Strategy Award from the Institute of Risk Management.
Mr. MacGloin has a master’s in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and a master’s in Engineering from the University of Manchester.
