Matt McManus is a Director in FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice and is based in New York. He has built cybersecurity experience over 9 years as an implementation consultant delivering electronic medical record security at healthcare organizations and as a program manager maturing security programs at national and global organizations.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. McManus served as a senior program manager on the information security team at WeWork, where he focused on global enterprise security and security operations projects, incorporating security and privacy guiding principles into product development lifecycles.
In another capacity, he worked on building the nationwide information security program for Planned Parenthood in the wake of the 2016 U.S. presidential election and an attack on the Planned Parenthood website.
Mr. McManus has previous consulting expertise as an implementation and security lead for Epic, the electronic medical record vendor, where he delivered large-scale projects and security best practices to over a dozen nationally recognized healthcare organizations and incorporated EMR security into their information security programs.
Through his experience working as a vendor and as a program manager maturing security programs, Mr. McManus has developed the necessary expertise to apply conceptual frameworks effectively across corporate environments, particularly HIPAA Privacy and Security, and pollinate security into corporate culture.
Mr. McManus holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame and Project Management Professional (PMP) and Security+ certifications.
