Mr. Murphy has over 15 years of cybersecurity experience, encompassing various domains, ranging from strategic implementation to intricate technical projects and critical national security initiatives.
Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Murphy served as an Associate Partner at IBM Security, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership skills by spearheading the integration and restructuring of the global business into the larger IBM Consulting business unit. Managing a diverse portfolio of crown jewel clients on a global scale, he played a pivotal role in more than 200 cybersecurity projects across 30 countries. Notably, he oversaw the security of some of the world’s largest investment funds, in addition to helping establish two successful cybersecurity practices from the ground up.
During his tenure, Mr. Murphy’s contributions were instrumental in integrating cybersecurity measures into one of the largest Covid-19 response systems worldwide. Additionally, he assumed the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a prominent investment fund while leading the global incident response team in effectively mitigating a sophisticated phishing attack.
Throughout his career, Mr. Murphy has held key positions such as the Cyber Leader for the Sports Business Group and Private Sector Group at Deloitte UK&I. He also occupied several cybersecurity leadership roles at EY UK&I, leveraging his expertise to drive impactful outcomes for his clients.
Mr. Murphy is an Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner, and is Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, CISSP, CCSP, and CCS certified.
Mr. Murphy holds a BSc in Computer System Networking and Telecommunication from the University of Central Lancashire and an MSc in Software and Systems Security from the University of Oxford.
